Supernova Equatora Capital and Clarmondial Launch Strategic Partnership to Build Indonesia’s Nature Investment Track Record

Supernova Equatora Capital and Clarmondial are pleased to announce a strategic partnership to accelerate nature-based investments in Indonesia, with the support of the Good Energies Foundation. This collaboration aims to unlock scalable private capital for businesses that contribute to sustainable agriculture, agroforestry, and ecosystem restoration, leading to positive climate and biodiversity outcomes, as well as meaningful socio-economic impact.

The partnership combines a deep local network to a broad international one: Supernova Equatora Capital brings operational knowledge of Indonesian business networks and landscapes. Clarmondial contributes a strong global investment track record and established relationships with leading corporates and impact investors. The partnership connects local insight with international best practice, addressing a critical gap in both domestic and global nature finance ecosystems.

Both Supernova Equatora and Clarmondial are women-founded and women-led organizations. The partnership has already attracted significant interest from regional family offices, corporates, and impact investors, and is expected to mobilize follow-on financing through Clarmondial’s Food Securities Fund and the forthcoming Biosphere Integrity Fund.

The collaboration will target investments across key Indonesian sectors including cacao, coffee, spices, palm oil derivatives, arenga sugar, and other food and cash crops. It will also explore larger, landscape-level transactions that enhance ecosystem services, strengthen climate resilience, support biodiversity goals, and improve supply chain traceability and market access. The initiative will provide catalytic support to, and investment in, businesses that connect smallholder farmers to markets, reinforcing value chain relationships, promoting good governance, and unlocking additional revenues including through climate and biodiversity finance.

“Many Indonesian businesses have strong potential to drive nature-positive transformation, but they need the right kind of support – grounded in context, investment discipline, and networks,” said Inez Stefanie, Managing Partner at Supernova Equatora Capital. “This partnership is about unlocking that potential through collaboration, not control.”

“This partnership will demonstrate how global capital can align with local priorities to deliver real financial and impact outcomes,” said Tanja Havemann, Director at Clarmondial. “By working with trusted local partners, we mitigate risks and build scalable, investable opportunities grounded in local realities.”

“We are proud to support this unique partnership that merges credible local insight with global investment know-how,” said Simon Siantidis, Manager of the Forest Program, on behalf of the Good Energies Foundation. “It is the kind of catalytic collaboration that can drive long-term environmental and social outcomes.”
